I joined Northern Constabulary in 1993 and have served in Inverness, Tarbert, Dingwall and briefly in Barra and Invergordon. I was elected to the Joint Branch Board in 2003, to the position of Assistant Secretary in 2004 and to the position of Secretary in 2006.
Since joining the Board I have undertaken a variety of training courses including, Equality and Fairness, Conduct and Disability Discrimination. I am also a trained Safety Representative.
I have and continue to represent Members in a whole host of workplace disputes from regulatory matters, to the more emotive issues of conduct, grievance, transfer, ill health processes and other associated issues.
I am the Joint Branch Board's Constables' Representative on the Joint Central Committee and am the Joint Branch Board's Representative on many national standing committees and working groups. In addition I represented the Scottish Police Federation at national seminars and in other forums.
At a local level, and in addition to my involvement in the Force meeting structure, I represent the JBB at meetings of the JNCC and the Northern Joint Police Board.
I can assure Members that I will continue to work tirelessly on their behalf.
