I joined Northern Constabulary in January 1985, having been born and brought up in Kirkwall, Orkney. Prior to this, I was an electronic and electrical engineer. Since then, I have served in Nairn, Lerwick, Force Training Department, Scottish Police College, Nairn, Road Policing and Aviemore. I am currently Inspector within Badenoch, Strathspey and Nairn Command Area, covering Aviemore.
This term of office signifies my first within the Scottish Police Federation, and like you, I am all too aware of the challenges that face the service within the next few years.
