Objectives of the Federation
The objective of the Scottish Police Federation is to represent the Federated Ranks of the Scottish Police Forces in all matters affecting their 'Welfare and Efficiency'.
The Federation negotiates, both locally and nationally, on matters affecting pay, allowances, hours of duty, promotion, training and takes an active interest in legislative changes which would impact on the conditions of service or working practices of its Members.
To achieve its objectives the Federation responds to a large number of consultation documents and, when appropriate, petitions the Scottish Parliament.
Though entirely apolitical, the Federation maintains contact with all major political parties, responds to enquiries from parties and individual parliamentarians and lobbies support for our point of view from both the Scottish and United Kingdom Parliaments.
