The Police Federation (Scotland) Regulations 1985, Regulation 17 provides for the Joint Central Conference of the Federation to make and approve the Police Federation (Scotland) Rules.
Rule 8 - Joint Branch Board Executive Committee
8(1) A Joint Branch Board shall appoint from it's members an Executive Committee and such Committee as is appointed shall not exceed 9 in number.
8(2) Executive Committees so appointed shall be responsible for the effective day to day management of each Joint Branch Board.
8(3) The Chair and Secretary of the Joint Branch Board shall also be Chair and Secretary respectively of the Executive Committee and shall keep proper Minutes of business, publish and circulate them to the members of the Joint Branch Board.
8(4) Subject to the consent of the Chief Constable, an Executive Committee may hold such meetings at such time as may be necessary for the purpose of conducting Federation business.
8(5) The provisions of this Rule shall apply equally to any Joint Branch Board of a Police Body.
Rule 9 - Scottish Police Federation - Northern Branch Rules
The Executive Committee of the Joint Branch Board shall be responsible for the effective day to day management of the Joint Branch Board and comprise the Chairman and Secretary of each Branch Board; along with the Assistant Secretary should he/she not be a Chairman or Secretary of an individual Branch Board.
