If I incur expense as a result of being recalled from annual leave?
Under no circumstances should any officer suffer financial detriment as a result of being recalled to duty from annual leave.
It is important you inform your Area Command if you are required for duty during a period of annual leave.
You are entitled to claim,
Necessary travelling expense incurred as a result of being required for duty and returning to your holiday destination.
Reimbursement for any expenses incurred obtaining refreshment as a result of the above. It is vital receipts are kept. Credit and debit card receipts are not acceptable.
For any additional expenditure incurred in obtaining food and lodgings as a result of your family home being closed (e.g. House let whilst on leave) during the absence of your family on holiday.
For any charges incurred at the holiday destination in respect of food or accommodation whilst you were absent, provided you can show you took all reasonable steps to avoid the expenditure [1].
